The Brijuni archipelago is located next to the southwestern coast of the Istrian peninsula, with the channel approximately 3 kilometers wide called Fažanski kanal dividing the archipelago from the mainland. Fažana, the town opposite to the archipelago, is 8 kilometers away from Pula (as the road, railway, air and maritime transport center of the region). Frequent boat transfers connect the National Park and the town of Fažana. Boat transfer timetable is available at: http://www.np-brijuni.hr/en/boat_transfer.
One-way boat transfer from Fažana to the island of Veliki Brijun takes 15 minutes. The price of boat transfer is included in the excursion and accommodation prices, and it is not charged separately.
Suburban bus line 21 connects Pula and Fažana. The timetable is available at: http://www.pulapromet.com/pdf/Linija21.pdf.
Visitors arriving by plane are recommended to take a taxi from the Pula Airport to Fažana.
Visitors arriving by car along the Istrian Y motorway should take the exit Vodnjan sjever (Vodnjan North), and then follow signposts to Fažana, where they should park their vehicle (either in the garage of the Brijuni National Park, or at public parking lots). The Brijuni National Park Office is located in the center of the town, in the building opposite to the transfer boat pier.
